A 4-layer piezoelectric transducer produces curvature when the top two piezo layers expand while the bottom layers contract. These transducers are often referred to as benders, quad-morphs, or flexural elements.

This 4-layer bender produces the greatest force output of our standard products and has the greatest energy harvesting potential. But its additional layers increase the cost and stiffness of the device (limiting displacement and increasing resonant frequency).
