A customer needed a highly accurate and dependable ultrasonic sensor for use in a steam trap testing tool. It needed to be an improved version of what they were currently using and work with their analysis software.

The Solution

After consultation, Piezo.com engineers customized a development path that built on the customer’s prior work adding in analytical design techniques and piezo sensor manufacturing experience. With guidance from Piezo.com, the customer persisted in completing numerous prototype iterations that included everything from improved Q/A measuring techniques, material choices, and seemingly small dimensional variations to ensure the highest quality of the improved product.

The Results

The results were piezoelectric acoustic sensors that were robust, thermally-stable, accurate, and repeatable overtime.
